METHODS WE USE

Client 2

BIOLOGICAL MEASURES

Client 3
Client 5

We are looking for unique biological markers of the transdiagnostic risk factors. In our research we use event related potentials, EEG frequency bands, heart rate variability, skin conductance, and other biological measures. Most research projects in the lab have a biological component.

ECOLOGICAL MOMENTARY ASSESSMENT

EMA is multiple measurement. For example, participants can complete a brief survey several times a day for 2 weeks. We use EMA to distinguish between the stable and fluctuating variance of anxiety, emotion regulation and other variables. Several research project in the lab involve EMA.

Client 3

ECOLOGICAL MOMENTARY INTERVENTION

EMI is an intervention that is delivered to a person when they need it most. For example, if a participant is doing EMA, when they report high anxiety, the app can send them a brief intervention tailored to their needs. We are working on several studies with EMI following brief interventions for anxiety sensitivity and intolerance of uncertainty.

ADVANCED STATISTICAL METHODS

We use multilevel modeling, structural equation modeling, dynamic structural equation modeling, and network analysis in most of our research.
